Fall Leadership Conference (FLC)
FLC will be taking place online from November 20 – November 27, 2023. FLC is simply an opportunity to see where you stand amongst your peers, and practice for our primary conference, SLC. It is not a qualifier competition for SLC or ILC.
The submission deadline for FLC will be November 12, 2023 at 11:59 pm. Submit your materials at this link. For Independent Registration ONLY, the submission deadline for FLC is November 14, 2023 at 11:59pm.
Specific details on how your event will run at FLC will be made available in your event guidelines on Google Classroom. An overview of all competitive events for FLC 2023 can be found at this spreadsheet.
Only students who have paid the membership and event’s fee can attend the conference. The last day to register, pay, and change your event/teammate information is November 10, 2023 at 11:59 pm. Late registrations or event changes will not be accepted. You must have the correct number of registered and paid teammates to compete in a team event. Students who do not register with a sufficient number of teammates will be switched to an individual event.
Spring Leadership Conference (SLC)
SLC is a national competition where students compete in an event of their choice. SLC 2024 will be held in-person at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from May 9-10, 2024. Workshops and panels will be taking place on both days.
The submission deadline for events that have a submission will be April 24, 2024 at 11:59 pm. Late submissions will not be accepted.
The final day to submit new students through your chapter spreadsheet is March 15, 2024 at 11:59 pm. This is the final day to change events, teammate information, and request a refund. Your final invoice will be sent shortly after, and we must receive your payment no later than March 29 at 11:59 pm. You can send a scanned image of the front and back of the cheque to finance@hosacanada.org to expedite the process, and avoid mailing delays. Please do not resubmit already registered students. To change their events and other information, send info@hosacanada.org an email.
IMPORTANT: The registered members tab of your chapter spreadsheet shows the events the students will be competing in, based on the information you submitted to us upon registration. If any of this looks incorrect, send us an email at info@hosacanada.org before March 15.
For Students Registering Independently: The SLC registration/payment/event change/teammate information/refund deadline is March 29, 2024, at 11:59 pm.
The top three competitors/teams from each event will be offered the opportunity to compete at the International Leadership Conference.
IB and AP Exam Accommodations
A separate event will be held to accommodate IB and AP students who may have an exam conflict on May 9 and/or 10. The event will take place on April 20, 2024 at the MTCC in downtown Toronto, tentatively from 10 am – 4 pm. Workshops will be also be held on this date for IB/AP students only (the same workshops will also be offered at SLC in May).
