After each seminar, students are welcome to ask questions and interact with the lecturers. These seminars are held online via Microsoft Teams and are open to students who have paid their registration fee. Additionally, hands-on and lecture style workshops will be offered in-person at the Spring Leadership Conference (SLC).<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Health Professions Workshops<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> introduce students to various disciplines within the healthcare field, e.g. Dentistry, Veterinary, Nursing, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Competitive Events Workshops<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will focus on how each event differs from one another and aim to help students choose the event that is right for them. HOSA Canada staff and former ILC winners will discuss the event, answer questions, and share insights as well as advice on how to prepare for it. These workshops are recommended for students that are having trouble deciding on which event is right for them, but are also for students who have decided on an event and would like to learn about how to succeed in that event.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_medium\"><\/div><div class=\"w-tabs layout_ver navwidth_auto navpos_left style_default switch_click has_scrolling\" style=\"--sections-title-size:1em\"><div class=\"w-tabs-list items_3 align_none\"><div class=\"w-tabs-list-h\"><button class=\"w-tabs-item active\" aria-controls=\"content-r801\" aria-expanded=\"false\"><span class=\"w-tabs-item-title\">Health Professions Workshop Program<\/span><\/button><button class=\"w-tabs-item\" aria-controls=\"content-ea90\" aria-expanded=\"false\"><span class=\"w-tabs-item-title\">Competitive Events Workshops<\/span><\/button><button class=\"w-tabs-item\" aria-controls=\"content-ic0f\" aria-expanded=\"false\"><span class=\"w-tabs-item-title\">2025-2026 Seminars<\/span><\/button><\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-tabs-sections titles-align_none icon_chevron cpos_right\"><div class=\"w-tabs-section active\" id=\"r801\"><button class=\"w-tabs-section-header active\" aria-controls=\"content-r801\" aria-expanded=\"true\"><div class=\"w-tabs-section-title\">Health Professions Workshop Program<\/div><div class=\"w-tabs-section-control\"><\/div><\/button><div  class=\"w-tabs-section-content\" id=\"content-r801\"><div class=\"w-tabs-section-content-h i-cf\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h2>Health Professions Workshop Program<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Formerly the Leadership Certificate Program, the Health Professions Workshop Program (HPWP) recognizes HOSA Canada members for their commitment to professional growth in the health sciences. Students earn recognition by attending a mix of online <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">seminars<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and in-person <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">workshops<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, designed to broaden their skills, knowledge, and career awareness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participants can achieve one of three tiers\u2014Maroon, Navy, or Bronze\u2014based on the number of sessions completed. Whether you\u2019re engaging virtually or gaining hands-on experience in person, the HPWP is your pathway to exploring the diverse opportunities within the health sciences.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students do not need to officially \u201cenroll\u201d in HOSA Canada\u2019s Health Professions Workshop Program (HPWP) to be eligible. However, for their participation to be counted, students must complete the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/bdNLuAmJ4RtynAtr7\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HPWP form<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> within 24 hours of attending a seminar. Participation will only be counted if the student attended the seminar live and submitted the form within the deadline. In each session, HOSA Canada staff will guide you through the wide range of competitive events available, highlighting the differences between categories such as Teamwork, Health Science, and more.
