Keva Garg Memorial Scholarship<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

In memory of the late national officer Keva Garg, HOSA Canada, with support from her parents Ajay Garg and Tian Zhou, is proud to offer the Keva Garg Memorial Scholarship. Demonstrating in her daily life the qualities of kindness, leadership, dedication, and passion for the healthcare field, Keva Garg exemplified the best qualities of a future health professional.<\/span><\/p>\n

Eligible students must be registered with HOSA Canada during the award year. Applicants are asked to submit a\u00a0<\/span>short essay outlining their\u00a0<\/span>contributions in charitable and\/or artistic endeavors<\/u>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Shortlisted applicants will be asked to participate in a video interview between February 4-7, 2026.<\/p>\n

The primary winner will be awarded a plaque and $1000. Any number of runner-up awards may be presented to exceptional applications at the discretion of the selection committee; runner-up winners will be awarded a plaque and $100.<\/p>\n

Winners will announced at the awards ceremony of the 2026 HOSA Canada Spring Leadership Conference on March 11, 2026. Pictures of the winners may be taken and posted on the HOSA Canada website.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>

About Keva Garg<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

Keva Garg was a senior high school student at the University of Toronto Schools. Her friends and colleagues would describe her as sunny, humble, and mature beyond her years. She thrived in the face of challenge and was capable of handling the demands of her academic career along with her extracurricular pursuits, all while maintaining a contagious cheerfulness. Keva loved basketball, volunteering, singing, art, dancing, and writing. Her life goal was to make laughter out of laughter and bring happiness to everyone around her. Among the many paintings she created, one of her favourites is titled, \u201cThe Noblest Art is That of Making Others Happy\u201d.<\/p>\n

Keva had an entrepreneurial mindset, establishing StreetClear and Vision Care20 during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, Keva was determined to pursue a career in medicine. In 2020, she first got involved with HOSA and began research work under the mentorship of Dr. Ding Yan Wang at Mount Sinai Hospital. Keva wrote two research papers under her guidance. Her second paper was presented on July 2, 2022 at the SLAP conference.<\/p>\n

Keva joined the HOSA Canada team\u00a0as a Competitive Events Planner\u00a0in 2021. She was incredibly proud to be a part of the HOSA Canada team and passionate about the opportunity to help other young adults achieve their goals in the health field.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>
