Founded in 1976 as Health Occupations Students of America, HOSA currently serves over 250,000 active members annually and over 2.5 million alumni. HOSA is one of the largest providers of Career and Technical Education\u00a0recognized by the US Department of Education.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph -->Established in 2014, HOSA Canada is the largest\u00a0chartered association of HOSA outside of the USA.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/hosa.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">For more information on our parent organization, click here<\/a>. Every year since its first Spring Leadership Conference (SLC) in 2015, HOSA Canada has organized the largest health science student competition in Canada, with over 7,000 students competing at SLC 2025.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph -->Students join HOSA through the local chapter at their school. As a HOSA member, students are provided with opportunities to learn\u00a0about specific healthcare careers of interest to\u00a0them as well as the healthcare industry as a whole\u00a0by preparing for\u00a0and competing in one of our 30 unique competitive events. \u00a0Some events focus on training students in\u00a0core technical procedures unique to a particular profession while others are more generalized and develop teamwork, communication and leadership skills.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hosacanada.org\/home\/2023-2024-event-guidelines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">For a full list of our competitive events, click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph -->Through HOSA, students are able to\u00a0meet like-minded individuals while working towards gaining an edge in the highly competitive health science space. At the same time, HOSA enables students who are passionate about health sciences to further develop their skills and grants them the opportunity to gain recognition for their achievements at a national and international level.
