Overview
HOSA Canada will be hosting two kinds of workshops throughout the year; health professional workshop series and competitive events workshops. After each workshop, students can ask questions and interact with the lecturers. These workshops are open to all students who have paid both their membership and event’s fee.
Health Professional Series
These workshops will highlight various disciplines within the healthcare field, for ex. Paths to Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science, Nursing, etc.
These workshops will be held online via Zoom.
Monthly Competitive Event Workshops
Competitive event-specific workshops will be held on a monthly basis.
Each session will focus on a different subset of competitive events offered by HOSA Canada, for ex. Teamwork events, written test events, health science events, etc. At these sessions you can ask questions, learn tips and tricks from ILC winners, preparation techniques, and engage in group content review.
These workshops will be held online via Zoom.
How to Register
To register for a workshop: Login to shop.hosacanada.org with the account you used to purchase the membership and events’ fee, add the workshop to your cart, and check-out. When you check-out, you will not be required to pay an additional fee. You will then receive an email prior to the workshop with a Zoom link.
Only students that register for the workshop on shop.hosacanada.org will receive a Zoom link.
Deep dive into nursing

Specialties after medical school – the medicine aspect
January 18th, 2023 at 6:30pm – 8:30pm

Medicine can be readily separated into medicine and surgery, but what does this even mean? Join HOSA Canada to learn about the different subspecialties in medicine. We will host various health care professionals to discuss topics such as pediatrics, emergency medicine, family medicine, psychiatry, physiatry, and so much more! Be prepared to learn all about these fields and have your questions answered by the professionals. Don’t miss out on this special opportunity, so come prepared with all of your questions!

Specialties after medical school – the surgical aspect
February 8th, 2023 at 6:30pm – 8:30pm

As the second part of our two-part series, this session will touch on the surgical specialties available in medicine. Join us for an informative evening on various surgical professions spanning from general surgery to orthopedics. Our guest speakers will talk about their day-to-day routine in their field and how they got there. Prepare to learn more about their past experiences and education that helped them achieve their goals and profession today. As always, you will get the chance to ask questions at the end, so come prepared!

Specialties after medical school – extended edition
March 1st, 2023 at 6:30pm – 8:30pm

You guys called… and we listened! Due to high demand, we will be presenting a third session on the different specialties after medical school. This will include various professions that may not fall into the “medicine” or “surgery” categories from our earlier sessions and more professionals who do fall into these categories, in case you may have missed them earlier. Join us for a fantastic evening listening to skilled healthcare professionals ranging from pediatrics to general surgery to pursuing a master’s degree, and much more! Mental health and women in medicine
