May 20th Update

Dear students, parents, teachers, and administrators,

Unfortunately, we have yet to receive all of our money back from all of our vendors. We are just as frustrated as you are at how long it has taken, and we hope to get your money back to you as soon as possible.

A registration fee of $40 and/or a conference fee of $65 was paid to the school, with a $10 early bird discount applied if paid before November. We will issue a refund of $45 for students who paid the early bird price and $55 to students who did not.

A virtual competition is scheduled to take place on May 28 and 29 for which details for registration have been sent out to teachers and chapter presidents. Students must qualify as a finalist in this event in order to compete in the virtual International Leadership Conference taking place June 24-27. More details on the vILC here:

As outlined in the terms and conditions agreed to upon registration, the registration fee is non-refundable. The fee is used for various costs which we cannot recover, including a per-member fee to US HOSA for each student registered, our learning management portal and app, as well as other operating expenses. HOSA students may access our online resources any time throughout the school year and gain eligibility to apply for various scholarships and workplace opportunities offered by US HOSA on a regular basis. We regret that we are unable to provide a full refund for the conference fee, as despite the nature of the situation, not all our vendors have agreed to refund us in full.
We apologize for the continued delay and appreciate your understanding.

March 14th Update : Cancellation of 2020 HOSA Canada SLC

Dear Students, Teachers, and Administrators,

We regret to inform you that the decision has been made to cancel the 2020 HOSA Canada Spring Leadership Conference in response to the COVID-19 pandemic

Earlier this week, Ontario’s chief medical officer recommended the immediate suspension of all gatherings over 250 people. In the face of this national health crisis, it would be dangerous and irresponsible for us to organize a gathering of over 7,000 students. To put this into context, other large events are being cancelled including DECA ICDCmajor sporting events, and various other medical association conferences.

Due to the uncertainty surrounding the outbreak, we are unable to reschedule the conference. At this time, we are trying to recover various costs from our suppliers, and we will do our utmost to refund as much as possible. Unfortunately, it will not be possible for us to provide a full refund for conference fees as medical supplies and other event equipment had been ordered and shipped in advance. More information on refunds will be made available in the coming weeks as we finalize arrangements with our suppliers. If your school has sent advance payment for hotel rooms, it will be returned in full.

We are confident that as future health professionals, HOSA students will do all they can to protect themselves and others in the coming months. We wish the best for your health and safety
